2020 in Review: Videos We've Made During the Pandemic
As the year comes to a close, we will certainly remember 2020 for all of its highs and lows, with Zoom and virtual meetings being the main highlight for many of us.
Although we may not be able to convene in-person and have come to embrace virtual events, we still continue to meet your video needs. Whether you are looking to film your remote interviews in-person, preassemble your live awards show, or just looking to level-up your virtual event with video, LAI Video has you covered.
What's more, it's never been a better time to use video because now more than ever, people are willing to watch. In fact, content consumption has risen by 80% since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Forbes.
Throughout this time apart, LAI Video has remained committed to providing sensible, safe, and creative new ways to tell our clients’ stories. These are just a few examples of the different types of projects where we’ve done just that:
Honoring an Industry Through Storytelling
With a combination of animation, safe studio shooting, and social distanced interviews, for CEO Update’s seventh annual Association Leadership Awards — a signature gala event for the news organization — we, like the rest of the world, had to go virtual. But that didn’t mean we had to go safe. Inspired by the mainstream virtual shows of the pandemic (and maybe a touch of the hit animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), we worked with our sister companies, including LAI Live, to design an industry awards program so unforgettable that it could compete with the everyday distractions of home life or web browsers with multiple tabs.
Reaching Younger Generations with User-Generated, Authentic Videos
DC Public Schools came to us looking for a memorable way to introduce its new DCPS Persists program, an initiative designed to raise the college graduation rate of DCPS alumni.
Using our own team members as the video’s featured coaches, we prepared a message for social media-savvy viewers – even more befitting for a class that unexpectedly spent its last few months of the school year online.
Embracing a self-produced, authentic aesthetic, the final video inspires confidence among DCPS graduates that they’ve “got this” – and that their Persist coaches are here for them, too.
Safely Raising Awareness For Timely and Critical Issues
In this COVID-19 response video, we helped No Kid Hungry showcase what they have been doing during the pandemic as millions of kids lost critical lifelines to food and thank their supporters. The powerful piece seamlessly blends interviews and b-roll we shot at a D.C. area food distribution center with existing video assets and minimal motion graphics to share how much money has been sent in emergency grants and how many meals are distributed per day since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Naturally, the video reaffirms the organization's core mission and culminates with an inspiring call for continued action and support.
Leaning on Fully-Animated Stories to Celebrate Important Milestones
This anniversary tribute for NACWA celebrates 50 years of clean water success. Told through a fully animated story, the video showcases how, standing together, NACWA is ready to face the challenges of the next 50 years as clean water utility leaders.
Helping Partners Adapt In-Person Events Into A Purely Virtual Experience
This year, AWS made the transition to adapt their annual in-person Girls' Tech Day into a purely virtual experience. The virtual event is designed to empower young girls and women to pursue careers in technology.
