Creative Inspiration: Our Top 10 Video Marketing Campaigns of the Year
As our LAI Video team is wrapping up the year, we’re looking back at the outstanding campaigns we’ve collaborated with our clients on this year. In 2021, we had countless opportunities to think outside the box and get creative to produce video campaigns that cut through the noise to educate audiences, entertain the masses, raise awareness for game-changing products and services and important causes, and inspire action from viewers.
With the team hard at work putting the finishing touches on 2021 projects and gearing up for 2022, now seems like the perfect time to recap some of the great work our makers, producers, animators, writers, and client leads have worked together to produce for companies and associations across various industries.
But before diving into some of our favorite projects from 2021, we'd also like to take a moment to thank all of the partners we had the pleasure of collaborating with this year. We're proud of everything we've accomplished together this year, as well as all the fun we had and connections made along the way. We're looking forward to partnering again in 2022!

Amazon – Best Fit Job Match
An illustrative recruitment ad campaign that takes viewers inside a day in the life of an Amazon software developer engineer II and highlights Best Fit Job Match, the company’s unique approach to hiring. We interviewed several engineers to draw out genuine moments that captured a candid perspective on Amazon’s culture and used that content to create highly polished 15-, 30-, and 60-second videos for ads, websites, and social media.
DC Public Schools - #ReopenStrong
Our Emmy Award-winning campaign that served to help DC Public Schools communicate to families the steps that had been taken to welcome students and staff back to The District’s schools. #ReopenStrong was a sweeping content package that included 80 public service announcements and a cohort of school leaders and administrators who featured as the trusted voices of the campaign.
AWS – Girls Tech Day 2021
An upbeat, pre-recorded virtual event that streamed to audiences worldwide. For Amazon Web Services’ 2021 Girls’ Tech Day, we incorporated an emcee to keep the event flowing, lively animation that complemented the lighthearted — yet educational and empowering — mood, cool graphics, video messages from women working in STEAM fields, and even a dance party filmed in our studio!
No Kid Hungry — Rebuild
An animated awareness campaign ad affirming the nonprofit’s mission to end childhood hunger. This dynamic, text-based campaign utilized animated typography that we were able to easily adapt from English to Spanish to create videos that were highly targeted to the language groups No Kid Hungry aimed to reach. This localization approach ensured that the organization was able to share its message with a different, but equally important, audience.
AWHONN — Care Equity for Black Moms
A powerful campaign driven by emotional testimonies from pregnancy complication survivors to advocate for care equity and inclusion for diverse groups. One of the keys to sharing these stories was building trust with the mothers who would become the voices for change in the video. Before filming, we conducted pre-interviews that provided a safe space for participants to share their experiences with the confidence that they would be treated with kindness and compassion.
DC Public Schools — Redesign: Anacostia and Ballou High Schools
Two full-length documentaries capturing the complex and expansive storylines that unfolded as students and staff at Washington, D.C.’s Anacostia and Ballou High Schools rallied together to work through the challenges of the pandemic, remote learning, and family life. With the “Redesign” documentaries, we used a more cinematic approach to produce content as powerful as anything you’ll stream in your living room.
REA/RXR Realty — Introducing WorxWell
A highly informative explainer video which offers viewers a glimpse into the future of the physical workspace and provides an overview of why a WorxWell space works well. The video incorporates interviews, a visual representation of how the adaptable office spaces work, and examples of how technology is implemented into the spaces for total optimization.
Tax Analysts — 50th Anniversary Tribute
A gripping 13-minute featurette that serves as a tribute to the people who help drive the mission of this highly respected tax policy research group forward. This mini doc takes viewers into yesteryear and back into the present, telling groundbreaking stories that have defined the organization through its rich history, while also showcasing its colorful cast of characters. The final product was edited masterfully to successfully blend the historical elements with the celebratory aspects, while elevating the organization’s mission.
Annex88/JBG Smith — Welcome to the Neighborhood
A commercial real estate spotlight video that showcases the business opportunities in the bustling National Landing neighborhood just outside of the nation’s capital. The video stars Sahil Rahman, co-founder of the Indian restaurant Rasa, who prepares a delicious looking “Tikka Chance on Me” bowl to introduce the viewer to Indian cuisine. While doing so, he also highlights all the reasons why working with JBG Smith to build a location in National Landing was the right choice for carrying on his family’s legacy in the restaurant industry.
Boy Scouts of America — Life of a Scout
An ongoing, feel-good docuseries chronicling the life of a scout. Throughout our longstanding partnership with the regional chapter of the scouts, we’ve developed vignettes that honor the next generation of leaders and recognize the impact they’ve had in bettering themselves and their communities. The newest part of the series is this reflective video that tells the story of one Eagle Scout’s mission to build a 9/11 memorial in her local area.
