LAI Video is proud to announce that it won an Emmy at the National Capital Area’s 64th Emmy Awards!

Our short film on Anacostia High School’s redesign efforts won for Best Long-form Content in the Education category. Check it out below!

Made in collaboration with DC Public Schools, the documentary follows Anacostia’s pivot as the pandemic forced the school to rethink the rollout of its redesign overhaul. The 18-minute long film has become required viewing for schools across district for its themes of community-led transformation during unprecedented circumstances.

James Favata (Director), Tori Furphy (Producer), and Jun Yang (Director of Photography) collected the honor, along with Sonya Soloway from DCPS (Executive Producer).

Over a dozen supporters from Anacostia and DCPS were also at Saturday's gala, including the film’s featured students, Keion Williams and Juan Marsh.

This Emmy recognition was awarded by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

This is our fourth Emmy award and second win with DCPS:

2021: Best Public Service Announcement / Single Spot for #ReopenStrong

2020: Best Historic / Cultural Programming for Preserving Our Nation’s History

2019: Best Program / Feature Segment in Politics in Government for The Swamp
