For both Raul Fernandez and Linda Jo Smith, we identified interviewees that reinforced each of their narratives. Fernandez, a successful businessman in Washington, DC, had other recognizable executives speak not only to his success, but also his generosity. His humility. Smith, the outgoing Chair of the SOME Board of Directors, was presented as an organizational leader and member of the Washington community. The former mayor, head of Pepco and assistant chief of the city’s police were delighted to speak on behalf of Linda Jo and her extraordinary impact.
Humanitarian of the Year Tributes
This is the third year partnering with So Others Might Eat, an incredible organization that helps the poor and homeless in Washington, DC. We helped SOME honor its two very deserving 2016 McKenna Humanitarian of the Year recipients. The feel-good tributes feature thoughtful interviews from colleagues and friends, as well as specially-treated b-roll of each recipient giving back to the community.
Identifying Your Best Friends
A Touch of Green
Over the course of several weeks, Tori, Phil and Jun captured all interviews and b-roll at a SOME kitchen. With a light touch and a bit of humor, Phil cut together both tributes. Accentuating that signature green color, we applied a unique filter treatment to the b-roll footage — presenting SOME as a vivid beacon of hope. Dan crafted animated bumpers to brand both videos for the event. They debuted at the 2016 Gala Dinner and continue to serve as examples of community leadership through hands-on philanthropy.
