Local Regulations for Local Communities

We partnered with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) to develop a friendly video calling card that explains the importance of state bank regulators in a, um… friendly way.

Omg Nmls!

Sarah and Justin dove into the world of locally regulated banking looking to transform key statistics and concepts into an animated explainer. Making the “go local” argument for loans, the short script presents state banks as the obvious choice for knowing your business — and for knowing you. Taking the challenge one step further, the video also explains the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry. This mouthful, otherwise known as NMLS, shows that even an eclectic blend of local regulations are easily accessible online.

Building Bank Building Blocks

After a back-and-forth of mood boards and design options, Rob developed a geometric aesthetic to portray state banks as the building blocks for a thriving community of small businesses. Dan’s storyboards used these building blocks to fluidly build and rebuild unique communities, taking the viewer through a variety enviroments made by the same materials. Dan animated the nearly three-minute explainer with a textured palette, a solid sound design and a slight wiggle for individual letters.
