NMA Live Broadcast Studio Experience

MINExpo 2024 wasn’t just big. It was record-breaking. More than 45,000 attendees and 2,000 exhibitors from 148 countries filled over 850,000 square feet of exhibit space in Las Vegas. Hosted by the National Mining Association, this global event showcased the latest in mining innovation and industry leadership.

But NMA wanted more than just an impressive expo. They had a bold idea: build a live, in-event media experience that would energize attendees, reach a wider online audience, and give NMA and its sponsors a new way to stand out. After six months of planning and production, our team launched NMA TV.

The Challenge

With so much happening across the three-day event, NMA needed a way to keep their messaging clear, consistent, and engaging.

Going into MINExpo 2024, the team had several goals in mind:

  • Feature their leadership team in a more visible, on-camera role
  • Include a range of industry voices through live interviews and conversations
  • Offer sponsors more value than traditional signage could provide
  • Introduce a new revenue stream through sponsored content blocks within a live broadcast

The Solution

NMA TV was defined by a robust on-site studio that streamed live programming online, throughout the convention center, and to the attendee passerby. Our team not only helped build and brand the physical studio structure, but also schedule three days' worth of content that included:

  • Live interviews with eight to ten guests each day
  • Welcome messages from NMA’s Chair and President and CEO
  • Daily recap videos of MINExpo produced by our on-site crew
  • On-the-ground interviews with attendees, exhibitors, and guest speakers
  • Drone and time-lapse sizzles that captured the scale of MINExpo
  • Sponsored segments scheduled and sold in advance
  • NMA TV branding and pre-produced NMA ads

The ROI

NMA came into MINExpo 2024 with a bold idea, and together, we turned it into a fully realized experience that delivered long-term value. The broadcast quickly became a central part of the event, weaving together live interviews, daily recaps, and key messaging in a way that felt cohesive and accessible. Additionally:

  • Exhibitors left with high-quality video content they could continue to use long after the show.
  • The livestream kept both in-person and virtual audiences engaged, creating new ways for people to follow along in real time.
  • The sponsored segments we helped develop introduced a valuable revenue stream and gave companies a more meaningful way to participate in the event.

Now, NMA has a tested model they can build on. The structure is in place, the content continues to work for them, and the approach is ready to scale for future events.
