The Franchising Convention

LAI Video, in partnership with its sister-company LAI Live, worked with the International Franchise Association on IFA2017, the annual convention. Developing both promotional material and show content, we produced stunning videos that firmly established the trade show as the premier event in franchising.

From YouTube to Stage

Leading up to the January event, we produced a short promo video that touted the convention’s keynote speakers, trade show floor and Las Vegas destination. Embracing new event theming, the commercial treats archived b-roll with a striking black-and-white filter. Borrowing from T-Mobile's gorgeous aesthetic, hot pink and white text boldly delivers key information, making for easy, silent playback on Facebook feeds. This look carried into the event videos themselves, including several awards tributes and speaker introduction videos. Most notably, we built a one-minute show opener to bring together a diverse audience into one franchise community. The video was custom-built for a very long, multi-screed set to deliver maximum “gee whiz!”

The Editors that Never Sleep

On-site, a team of four nerds traveled to Las Vegas to document the real event in real time. Pre-show, Cat, Jun and Tiffany shot and summarized the Shark Tank-style NextGen competition — where ambitious franchise entrepreneurs pitch their propositions to win $10,000. During the convention, Rob stepped in on a second overnight edit that highlighted the size and scope of the convention itself. Both videos played on the final day of the event, positioned as two can’t-miss grand finale acts that sent attendees home feeling heart-warmed and satisfied.
