 Available Position: Motionographer + Editor

Summary:

Nested deep within the Leading Authorities speakers bureau is a booming video production outfit. Coming from a live events origin, LAI Video now specializes in video storytelling of all kinds. We produce things like identity and branding pieces, big show openers and emotional case studies. From stylish motion graphics to comprehensive live-action shoots, LAI Video delivers powerful digital solutions for a variety of organizations in Washington, DC. 

LAI Video is looking for a Motionographer & Editor to join its family. From sophisticated animated pieces to compelling live-action narratives, he or she will provide a variety of refreshing video solutions that help clients tell their story. The Motionographer & Editor will also draft storyboards for complex shoots, create style guides for new projects and add an overall design "eye" to everything LAI Video touches.

Duties:

  • Produce videos using original motion graphics, composite animation and editing
  • Design and create various graphic content to be used in print-materials or video
  • Develop and create presentation visuals for external and internal clientele
  • Work closely with the Video Editors, Project Managers, Creative Director, and Executive Management
  • Follow established LAI Video production and time-tracking processes
  • Research and help implement new ways to keep LAI Video progressive and efficient
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
  • Travel for on-location editing and event needs

Experience:

  • Premiere Pro
  • After Effects

  • Sound Design
  • Keynote/PowerPoint

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Video, Film Production, Media, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3-5 years work experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Organized and detailed-oriented
  • Punctual and an overall team player

Associate Producer + Project Manager

One of three divisions at Leading Authorities, Inc., LAI Video is a booming, boutique video communications company with a team of creative storytellers. The LAI Video nerds pitch and produce commercial-grade videos to a variety of organizations in Washington, DC and beyond. From public service announcements to product promos, we develop a new angle to engage with a target audience.

As we continue to grow, LAI Video is looking for a new Associate Producer + Project Manager to join its family. The Associate Producer + Project Manager lives within the Client Experience group and bridges the gap between the needs of our partners and our own creative team to deliver a stunning product and an inviting collaborative process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to identify, conceptualize, and execute fresh and compelling stories through video production and other digital media, including graphic and web design
  • Interact regularly with clients in video briefings, kick-off meetings and throughout the project life-cycle
  • Be responsible for production schedules, budgets, vendors, travel and all logistics for projects
  • Work closely with LAI Video team members to develop treatments, scripts and storyboards, as well as cast talent, scout locations and draft shooting schedules
  • Produce local and on-location shoots, organizing crew, directing talent and conducting interviews
  • Manage editors and animators throughout post-production, ensuring that drafted deliverables meet client goals and expectations and uphold LAI Video quality standards
  • Oversee several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment
  • Establish clear creative and logistical expectations on each project
  • React quickly to creatively troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • Continue to manage partner relationships between projects
  • Work with the Creative Strategists to pitch, propose and budget new projects with existing partners
  • Report directly to Director of Operations and Client Experience
  • Work regularly with LAI Video Leadership and Executive Management
  • Maintain project management software to benchmark department utilization and success
  • Enforce and create the necessary infrastructure to keep LAI Video progressive and efficient
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Communications or Media and Video Production
  • At least 3-5 years work experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines and occasional overtime
  • Punctual and an overall team player

Business Development Associate

One of three divisions at Leading Authorities, Inc., LAI Video is a booming, boutique video communications company with a team of creative storytellers. From public service announcements to product promos, we develop a new angle to engage with a target audience.

As LAI Video grows, we lean on the Business Development Associate to seek new opportunities and client relationships. In this role, the Business Development Associate will assist in the sales team in marketing and prospecting to find and setup lasting partnerships that challenge LAI Video's creative team, expand its portfolio and help the business reach its target revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
  • Obtains contact information of potential customers through cold calling, internet research and emailing
  • Identifies and qualifies new clients based on company’s business model and guidelines
  • Required to set up at least 10 client meetings or calls per week to pitch video services
  • Identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers
  • Hears a client’s need and persuasively and effectively proposes LAI Video services
  • Assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process, including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations
  • Coordinates appointments, meetings and calls between clients and LAI Video team members (LAI Video Management Team, Creative Strategists, Producers, Proposal Writers, etc.) for capabilities presentations, creative brainstorms, proposal pitches and other related activities
  • Maintains CRM database of potential customers’ contact numbers and emails
  • Works with Marketing and other LAI Video team members to add new contacts/leads to CRM
  • Assists in achieving targeted revenues from new or existing video clients
  • Requires a deep understanding of LAI Video products and services and can convey accurate project scope details
  • Responds quickly and effectively to inbound sales leads from the LAI Video website, Live Chat, marketing emails, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, computer and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently but within strategic framework of a larger team
  • Good business acumen and work ethic
  • Willing to learn and ask questions
  • Can handle many projects/clients at the same time
  • Must be efficient at utilizing computer-based tools (CRM, project management software, etc.) to accomplish tasks and communicate with others
  • Light travel may be necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)

Creative Strategist

The Creative Strategist plays a key role in driving a client’s branding and messaging strategy throughout their engagement with LAI Video. The Creative Strategist researches, defines and pitches creative solutions that impresses our clients and challenges our team. This sales role is responsible for seeking and closing business, managing lasting partnerships and meeting LAI Video’s revenue goals .

Responsibilities

  • Works with department team members (LAI Video Management Team, Business Development Associates, Producers, Proposal Writers, etc.) to effectively pitch services and persuade clients to conduct business with LAI Video.
  • Conducts capabilities presentations, brainstorming sessions, workshops and pitch meetings to showcase LAI Video services
  • Assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process for clients, including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations
  • Collaborates with our team to define video project objectives, goals and scope to establish the ideal project approach
  • Cultivates relationships with new and existing clients to form lasting partnerships with LAI Video
  • Develops and demonstrates an understanding of the client’s business environment and strategy and is able to accurately pitch projects that will meet clients’ needs.
  • Required to conduct at least 10 client meetings or calls per week
  • Presents LAI Video services at industry conferences and networking events
  • Assists in achieving targeted revenues from new or existing video clients
  • Requires a deep understanding of LAI Video products and services and can convey accurate project scope details
  • Remains well-informed of emerging trends, behaviors, technologies, and companies that are changing the video communications landscape and our clients’ businesses

Available Position: LAI Video Internship (Unpaid)

Leading Authorities Inc (LAI) is one of the nation’s most prominent speaker’s bureaus, with unique capabilities in lecture representation, media and event production, and entertainment. Our mission is to help organizations create powerful meeting experiences and messages using world class talent, entertainment and creative media. The primary responsibility of this unpaid internship is to provide support to and assist with the day-to-day operations of our video production department. This position offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to be creative and use cutting edge technology while learning in a fast-paced environment.

Position reports to Senior Video Editor, LAI Video
Location: Washington, DC

Job Duties:

  • Work closely with Video Editors, Production Manager, Creative and Technical Directors, and Vice President on assigned projects
  • Assist with shooting of video projects to include camera work and editing
  • Assist with lighting for various video projects in and out of studio
  • Assist with designing, compressing and dubbing of various video elements
  • Research and provide assets for various video projects
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a video database
  • Assist with development of various PowerPoint and Keynote presentations
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to handle working in a fast-paced environment
